First Re-Election Bids Require Balancing Act
All Things Considered, October 24, 2007 · Freshman Reps. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) and Peter Roskam (R-IL) talk about the challenges of raising money, campaigning in their districts and continuing their work in Washington as they head rapidly to their first re-election bid in 2008.
NPR has been checking in with them periodically since they arrived in Washington in January. Both were elected by relatively small margins in 2006.
