GABRIELLE GIFFORDS REMINDS VOTERS OF OCT. 6 REGISTRATION DEADLINE
Early balloting for November election is underway
TUCSON—Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is reminding all eligible voters that Monday, October 6 is the deadline to register for the November 4 election.
“Our democracy is not a spectator sport,” said Giffords. “It requires the active involvement of its citizens. Every eligible man and woman should register to vote and be sure to cast a ballot on Election Day.”
Registering to vote is easy and quick. Registration can be completed online at www.azsos.gov or in person at County Recorder offices and other public locations, like libraries. A list of offices throughout the district is available at www.giffordsforcongress.com.
Giffords also is encouraging voters to avoid the long lines at their neighborhood polling places by signing up to vote by mail. Early voting begins Thursday, October 2 and the deadline for early ballot requests is Friday, October 24.
“Early voting is a convenient way to fulfill our civic responsibility,” said Giffords. “I encourage my constituents in Arizona’s 8th Congressional District to take advantage of it.”
